Home Price Appreciation
Even with home prices in the Kansas City Metro appreciating faster than most buyers would like, they’re not appreciating as fast as the rest of the country. See the graph below.
When the market crashed in 2008-2009, it was worse in many other parts of the country than here in KC. As a result, we didn’t have that far to ‘bounce back’.
Even though the third quarter of 2016 saw a 6.8% price appreciation over Q3 2015, home prices in the KC area have risen only 18.8% since 2012 versus 24.1% for the rest of the country.
